Chair

susan hanSusan Han, Partner, WeirFoulds

Susan advises portfolio managers, investment advisers, securities dealers, exempt market dealers and other financial services providers on their regulatory obligations, including securities compliance and registration matters. She has extensive experience dealing with investment funds, including public mutual funds and private pooled funds. Her practice includes advising clients on anti-money laundering (AML), fiduciary and statutory obligations of investment managers, codes of ethics and personal trading, foreign corrupt practices, privacy, data security and management, and anti-spam legislation.

Susan is the Chair of the National Exempt Market Association’s (NEMA) Compliance & Regulatory Affairs Committee. She is also a director with the Canadian Money Services Businesses Association, with an interest in the intersection of payments, FinTech and AML. In addition, Susan is a member of the AML/ATF Public/Private Sector Advisory Committee (PPSAC) sponsored by Canada’s Department of Finance.

Susan has served as the Corporate Secretary to a number of public companies and large investment fund complexes, and their independent review committees (IRCs).

winston young Winston Young, CFO, Toronto Global

Winston Young is an innovative financial executive who excels in strategic and financial planning with extensive business experience in both the private and public sector. A chartered accountant, he has over 15 years of real estate and development experience. Winston is former CFO of Build Toronto Inc. and Invest Toronto Inc. during their start-up phase. He has held various senior finance positions including Vice President, Finance and Controller, and Vice President, Business Planning (during its megaplex theater expansion phase) at Famous Players Inc., a division of Viacom Canada Inc. He has also served as Director, Planning at Markborough Properties Inc. Winston holds an MBA and previously worked with the firms Ernst & Young and Richter & Partners Inc. in auditing and financial consulting. Winston is also a certified corporate director of the Institute of Corporate Directors and currently serves as a director of the board of the International Institute of Business Analysis, and as a director of the board of Ontario Place Corporation, where he is Chair of two audit committees. Winston gives back to the community through the mentorship programs at the Schulich School of Business and Rotman School of Management.
